CDG Funding Instruments in Practice

Companies that want to be successful in the future must constantly invest in the development of new products and processes. Speed amid global competition is essential here, and the key to this speed is pooling knowledge through research cooperation.

The Christian Doppler Research Society uses a unique model to promote cooperation between science and industry in the field of application-oriented basic research. The starting point is the research issue pursued by the company in question. A group of researchers does intensive and concentrated scientific work on this key issue at Christian Doppler labs at a university or non-university research institution or at Josef Ressel centres at a university of applied sciences.

Christian Doppler labs and Josef Ressel centres create added value both for companies and universities and therefore, as flagship initiatives of the Ministry of Economics, make a vital contribution to Austria as a research location. With a large number of Christian Doppler labs and Josef Ressel centres already conducted or currently ongoing, Upper Austria is a very active partner of the Christian Doppler Research Society. At an information session, two current examples of this cooperation model will be presented that promises so much success for both science and industry. Discover first-hand what the requirements for CD labs and JR centres are and how such structures can be implemented at the interface of science and industry.
