COMET Funding Instruments in Practice

The COMET (Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies) funding scheme promotes the creation of competence centres which have at their heart a programme of top-quality research established jointly by science and industry. To implement COMET, three programme segments, “COMET centres”, “COMET projects” and “COMET modules” have been envisaged with the aim of establishing new and groundbreaking topics in research.
The aim of the COMET projects is to conduct high-quality research as part of the cooperation between science and industry with mid-term goals and clearly defined topics that have potential for future development. COMET projects help launch new product, process and service innovations and allow new consortiums and topics access to the COMET scheme.
The information session aims on the one hand to give those interested a brief overview of the COMET programme and to present details of the COMET project segment. On the other hand, the presentation of two COMET projects that are currently being successfully carried out will provide insights into how it works in practice.
Questions about the planned 8th call (expected start: November 2019) can be discussed in a Q&A session with all the participants or in one-to-one discussions with members of the COMET team.
