Research into interaction between humans and machines
The research company PROFACTOR was entrusted with the national flagship project as part of the 18th “Produktion der Zukunft” call issued by the Infrastructure Ministry. PROFACTOR will be coordinating 24 prominent partners from science and industry for a period of three years. The project focuses on developing new technologies that provide production workers with the kind of support they really need. As part of the MMAssist II project, assistance systems are being developed that relieve workers of monotonous and burdensome tasks and help them cope with the ever growing variety of product shapes and sizes. A key issue here is the synergy between humans and machines. The employees of the companies are actively involved in developing the solutions. Scientific supervisor is Professor Manfred Tscheligi (Center for Human-Computer Interaction at Salzburg University, and Austrian Institute of Technology). That coordination of this flagship project has come to Upper Austria shows that the province is among the top regions for industrial production.
