Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH
The Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH (Wood K plus) is a non-university research institution for wood and related renewable raw materials. Its core competencies include materials research, material development and process technology along the entire value creation chain from the raw materials to the finished product. The experts at Wood develop methods and do foundation work, as well as conducting applied research where industry and science intersect. The Kompetenzzentrum Holz is run and financed as a K1 centre of excellence through the COMET funding scheme. The centre employs a workforce of around 130 researchers at four sites: Linz, Lenzing, Tulln and St. Veit/Glan.
