Excellent Cooperative Research
COMET stands for “Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies”. The name of the nationwide research funding scheme also encapsulates its objective of promoting excellence in research. COMET centres are defined by excellent cooperative research with an international profile. The research funding scheme is a key pillar of national technology policy in Austria and of fundamental importance for Upper Austria as a region with a strong focus on innovation. UAR serves as an intermediary for strategic cooperative research projects and plays a central role in the COMET scheme, among others. As such, it provides active support with the development of projects, the setting up of centres and the ongoing development of structures and facilities.
