Research performance at a glance

At the 10 associated companies of UAR, members of the UAR Innovation Network, over 1,000 employees work on future technologies for efficient production and solutions for innovative medical technology. With around 1,200 projects and an operating performance of EUR 113 million in 2022, the research output is consistently high.

Through cooperative research, the UAR Innovation Network supports companies as they get ready to meet the challenges of the future. The network of partners covers a broad spectrum. Currently, the number of partnerships stands at around 1,100 – with approximately two thirds in business and industry. The partner companies include many that have been partners for years – from Austrian SMEs to globally operating industrial concerns.

The centres have excellent connections with the scientific community all over the world – more than 40% of the partnerships are with international organizations, and a quarter of the research projects also involve international research partners. Over 1,000 publications and academic papers are evidence of high scientific output. Currently, cooperative research has led to approximately 400 patents and licences. Almost a third of these are held by the centres themselves.
