SCCH Awarded BGF Quality Seal
23. April 2025
Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) has been awarded the BGF quality seal for workplace health promotion. This seal represents one of Austria’s most prestigious forms of recognition for businesses that successfully promote the health and safety of their workforce. The certification is valid from 2025 – 2027. It is awarded by the Austrian Health Service, ÖGK. To receive BGF certification, companies must implement measures focusing on both behavioural and relational matters.
Health Promotion as Part of Company Culture
SCCH offers a wide range of activities that benefit both body and mind for its 125 employees from 25 nations. Markus Manz, CEO of SCCH, stresses that “health promotion is an essential part of our company culture. We organize regular group sports activities that are integrated into the working day. Recently we also offered a course in ‘first aid for the soul’. The cookery and crafts evenings we organize under the motto ‘real, not digital’ are very popular with our employees. That we have now been awarded the BGF seal of quality for the first time confirms the value of our efforts and encourages us to make further improvements in workplace health promotion in the future.”
Modern Office in the Mühlviertel
SCCH has invested in ergonomic workstations with adjustable-height desks. There are phone booths so that employees can phone and work undisturbed. Office dogs are welcome, and activities are also offered on the topic of resilience. “These are all points noted by staff in a survey on workplace health promotion as important for well-being,” says Manz. “We were extremely pleased with the level of participation in this health-promotion process: the response rate was over 70 per cent – which is higher than average. We also hold regular consultations with the company medical officer, the safety expert and the industrial psychologist.”
