SAL: AI Could Detect Smoke Clouds from Space

Silicon Austria Labs and Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences are working together to equip a satellite with artificial intelligence. This joint experiment for detecting clouds of smoke from space could play a role in forest fire early warning systems in future. Forest fires, compounded by the climate crisis, are having a massive impact on society.
