PROFACTOR Develops Conductive Ink for Textiles of the Future

When PROFACTOR prints individual T-shirts, you won’t find snappy slogans and smart graphics on them. The Steyr-based research company prints strip conductors on textiles. At the Technologiehaus in Steyr, the company’s chemists and physicists have developed a special type of ink that allows textiles to be individually functionalized using an inkjet printer.

RECENDT: Linz as a Scientific Hotspot for Laser-Ultrasonics

From 4 – 8 July 2016 the Johannes Kepler University Linz presented itself as the scientific hotspot for the innovative technologies of laser ultrasonics and photoacoustics. At the 5th international symposium on these issues around 125 researchers from around the world gathered to discuss the latest scientific developments in the field of non-destructive testing of materials in industrial production.

RISC: SmaPro Qualification Network - All Set for Industry 4.0

At the closing meeting on 10 June 2016, the steering committee of the SmaPro qualification network gave a positive assessment of the project. Over the 25 course days, 103 participants learned how to use methods from smart production — plant data analysis and interpretation in production — profitably in their companies.

COMET Call: Upper Austria Wins Funds for 3 Projects

The fourth nationwide call for projects under the COMET funding scheme “K1 centres” in Austria was hugely successful for the research region of Upper Austria. The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has approved funding for seven projects all over Austria, with Upper Austria playing a central role in three of them.
