AIT: On the way to climate-friendly utility vehicles

The transport sector accounts for 30 per cent of CO₂ emissions, making it one of the biggest pollution sources. Action is needed not just in private transport, but for municipal and commercial vehicles too. The recently concluded eCVT project led to the development of an electrified drive concept that not only successfully prevents emissions but also increases efficiency at the same time.

WOOD K PLUS: „Wooden“ it be smart

Wood has a long tradition of use in branches such as furniture-making and the construction industry. One of its major advantages is its renewability, which makes it a material of the future. The “WoodSigns” project that began in February promotes wood’s transition to a material that is at once highly functional and beautiful to look at. By functionalizing wood in innovative ways the project aims to open up new areas of use for it, such as the automotive and aviation industries.

RISC: Zero-defect production for the energy transition

Photovoltaics (PV) is a vital factor in achieving the energy transition but its potential is still a long way from being sufficiently exploited. Research plays a central role in addressing this deficiency, as shown by the EU project “Platform-ZERO” that was launched recently. 12 European partners, RISC Software among them, are collaborating to cut the costs of manufacturing PV systems and make their production more efficient. RISC Software is in charge of one work package to which it contributes its expertise in the fields of data engineering and AI analysis.

SCCH: Inspirierende Einblicke in die Welt der Forscher:innen

Im Rahmen der "Berufsorientierungstage" besuchten 24 Schüler:innen der vierten Klasse des Bischöflichen Gymnasiums Petrinum Linz das Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH).

Die Kinder konnten an diesem Tag ihre Interessen erkunden und sich mit verschiedenen Studienrichtungen und Berufsmöglichkeiten beschäftigen.
